I promised myself early this year that I'd try and get to some conventions in 2011, but January is a bad month to eke the money for it out the household budget, let alone the fact that I'm not sure I'll have enough leave built up to be able to attend the entire thing.

Yeah, there's no way I'd have enough money, so my 2011 convention plans consist entirely of GenCon, even though it's only like 4 hours away for DDXP.
I am going. I am signed up for Slot 4 SPEC3-2, Slot 5&6 ADCP3-1, and EPIC3-1 on Saturday.

I am hitting Gencon instead. I live in far west Chicago and it is not far but the drive back and forth would be killer and I do not feel like dropping coin on the hotel. I might hit there Fri or Sat. With it so close after the holidays my job is slow so the cash flow is as well.
Least with Gencon I can possibly convince friends to go to the con with me and cover the cost of the room.
