Are you excited for D&D 5e?

Remove for a moment all of the praise and discourse you may have seen online; in blogs, articles, and commentary. Are you excited for the next edition of the game? Truth be told, I wouldn't expect it to be ready until 2013 or 2014. It is in it's infancy and as an avid fan, a part of me would like to see it published during the 40th anniversary in 2014!

I am excited, absolutely! The playtest stuff I have had access to supports just what you said Matt about it being in its infancy. I think there is a lot of promise there and once the open playtest begins I bet the basics hammer out fast and give way to the work on the modular pieces that we keep hearing so much about on Legends & Lore and such. The conversation at the D&D Summit last December convinced me that Wizards of the Coast learned to actively listen to the requests of their fans. The fans of D&D should learn to put their energy into posting suggestions that reflect their style of play so the next edition can reflect.

I agree that fans should spend their time giving good feedback.

I'm adopting a "wait and see" attitude on fifth edition. Third and fourth had some radical steps forward from the earliest versions and the game was the better for that work, and I don't want Wizards to step back from some of the changes that made those two editions so very good.

    Thumbs up

I'm looking forward to it. It sounds like it will be the best D&D yet. Currently I play 3.5 edition but it's hard to get my 4E friends to join and vice versa.
